Welcome! You are here because you are interested in including some regular meditation in your life and would like the support of instruction and community in your development. Good choice!
Here are some of the proven benefits of meditation:
- Reduces stress, not only mentally/emotionally, but also physically. Research has shown that meditation can improve stress-related conditions including irritable bowel syndrome, PTSD and fibromyalgia.
- Lessens anxiety. Reducing stress directly translates to experiencing less anxiety in your life.
- Promotes emotional health and can lessen depression.
- Enhances self-awareness and problem-solving skills.
- Lengthens attention span and enhances memory.
- Can help fight addictions.
- Improves sleep.
- Can help control pain.
- Can decrease blood pressure.
- Is accessible anywhere!
As a long-time meditator, I can attest to all these benefits, and many more – and am excited to share this journey with you! And as a teacher of meditation, I have seen participants experience positive changes in their lives – sometimes shifts that they could never have imagined, greatly enhancing their life experience.
There are many different ways to meditate and in this 4-session introductory program, we will first learn:
- Specific breathing techniques to both relax your nervous system and focus your attention.
This will provide immediate benefits and can be practiced easily on your own in between the sessions. You will notice how it positively impacts your life, right away!
Also in the sessions we will be:
- Using meditation for very practical purposes in addressing current problems you may be experiencing in your life and discovering greater awareness and possibilities around them.
This results in less tension and a new sense of ease, including in areas that currently cause you stress. Even after the meditation session itself is over, you will see clear benefits extending into your daily life.
Because the sessions are live (through zoom), participation is warmly welcomed – but it’s never mandatory. One of the first things we learn in these meditation sessions is to:
- Let go of self-judgement.
Seeing many of our own struggles reflected in what others are experiencing, helps us all let go of self-criticism and move forward together.
As an added bonus, you can:
- Book a private, 30-minute one-on-one session with me where we explore issues you may be struggling with in your life or simply do a meditative process together specific to your needs.
This time is yours to use in whatever way will be most helpful.
The dates for the classes are on four consecutive Wednesdays:
Sept. 22, 29 and Oct. 6, 13 from 9:15 – 10:30 am PT (Pacific Time)
You are encouraged to attend all four live sessions however they will be partially recorded so if you must miss one, you can view it later. The private session can be booked at a convenient time for us both – we will organize that separately.
The cost for the class and added bonus is $125 – a substantial reduction of what this package would normally cost for both the classes and a private session.
So if you have been thinking “I should learn to meditate,” this is your chance!
For those who have tried meditation and think they can’t do it, here is what a member of my weekly classes wrote:
I joined Susan’s meditation class a year ago and I have so appreciated the benefit of her weekly sessions in my life. I had tried meditation before I met Susan, but never felt that I was any good at it and always gave up after only a couple of attempts. However, from the outset, Susan’s calm and caring manner and words reassured me that I could benefit from the practice of meditation and that I, too, could find my way to incorporating this helpful aspect into my life. And she was right! I now truly look forward to my meditation sessions with Susan each week; they’ve been such a support to me in these turbulent times. — Beth Mehrassa
And this from another class member:
Susan’s meditation classes have helped me to stay aligned and centered. There is a lot going on in the world and in our lives and the meditations are a good reminder to focus on what matters the most in life. I feel more gratitude in my heart, more clarity in my mind and more connection with my soul after these sessions. Susan’s wisdom and energy is one of a kind and meeting her has been one of the highlights of 2021. — Mona Tavassoli
And from another:
Susan’s mediations have been a game changer for me. I love how she offers a safe space to share (or not share) what is showing up for you in life that week. It leaves me feeling a greater sense of connection with myself and the other members of this little community she has created. Susan personalizes the meditations to the group each week which is truly a unique experience and amazing for beginners or experienced meditators. I can’t speak highly enough about Susan and this community and the positive shifts I have had in my life since beginning. — Carrie Bebenek
