About Homeopathy

Homeopathy is a complete medical system that has been practiced for over 200 years by professional homeopaths, homeopathic doctors and in hospitals worldwide. Homeopathy’s roots go all the way back to the ancient “Father of Medicine” Hippocrates, who wrote that there are two methods of healing – one by “contraries,” and the other by “similars.” While conventional western medicine followed the “contraries” approach, homeopathy evolved around the principle of healing through similars, or “like cures like.”

Today, homeopathy is one of the world’s most widely used medical systems¹ and continues to offer affordable, effective help to millions of people.

Homeopathy’s mission is to cure disease in the way that is most rapid, gentle and permanent.²

Homeopathy addresses all aspects of health – physical, mental and emotional.

Homeopathy is based on the scientific law of “Like Cures Like” as recognized by fathers of modern medicine such as Paracelsus and Hippocrates and founded in the 18th Century by the German physician, chemist and linguist Dr. Samuel Hahnemann as a complete medical system.

Homeopathy bases its treatment on the unique symptoms you are experiencing, rather than on a disease diagnosis. Conventional or allopathic medicine needs a specific disease diagnosis in order to prescribe synthetic drugs and chemicals to fight a narrow range of symptoms limited to that disease. Homeopathic treatment, however, addresses all the symptoms a person is experiencing regardless of whether they fit into a medical diagnosis or not.

Homeopathy looks at the totality of the physical, mental and emotional symptoms and chooses one remedy (or when appropriate, a series of remedies over time) which most closely matches that totality. A homeopathically prepared remedy which is similar to the entire disease state stimulates the curative process and brings the whole person to greater health and vitality.

Within any illness lies a potential for healing, strengthening and growth. Homeopathic treatment supports and furthers your overall health by stimulating your own system to overcome whatever disease, weakness or susceptibility has become part of your experience. Successfully overcoming an illness or impediment without the interference of chemical or suppressive drugs is a strengthening experience for the immune system and overall vitality.

Homeopathic Remedies come from natural substances of our world – plants, minerals, organic substances – which are prepared in a unique way to heighten their healing properties while at the same time are highly diluted to remove any possible negative side effects. Unlike synthetic drugs, they never lose their potency or efficacy because they are made of all natural components and are not combined with any unnatural substances that can cause unpredictable side effects.

Conventional medicine’s aim is to fight or suppress a diagnosed disease with chemically altered mixtures of substances or invasive techniques, and ignore any symptoms which don’t fit into a narrow disease diagnosis. While that is appropriate in certain situations such as a life-threatening emergency or physical injury, in many other situations this approach can be less effective and sometimes even harmful. Every year thousands of people’s health is further compromised by negative drug interactions, serious side effects from their medications or medical procedures. For people whose symptoms fall outside of a conventional diagnosis, doctors may be at a loss as to any kind of treatment.

Homeopathy focuses on treating the whole person and whatever disease state they are experiencing.

Homeopathic medicine offers the possibility of curing disease, removing inhibitory blocks and freeing us to live fuller, healthier, more expressive and happier lives.
